Nissan NV Will be The Southern Mac & Cheese Truck at 2012 Chicago Auto Show
If there’s any way to connect with vehicle enthusiasts and media at a car show, serving them hot, delicious food is definitely one of them. And doing it out of your food truck concept doesn’t hurt either. Just as they did at the L.A. Auto Show, Nissan has outfitted an NV2500 High Roof as a food truck concept for the 2012 Chicago Auto Show and will be serving up Mac & Cheese from the popular restaurant The Southern.
And just like The Grilled Cheese Truck and Coolhaus Truck in Los Angeles, The Southern already operates a food truck around the city which is quite popular among Chicagoans. Nissan is closely following the rise in food truck popularity in cities across America and acknowledges the Nissan NV would be ideal for the industry.
Joe Castelli, Vice President of Commercial Vehicles and Fleet for Nissan North America, had this to say: “Since its introduction last spring, the Nissan NV van is proving itself in a wide range of commercial uses, from construction to delivery services, in both Standard Roof and High Roof body styles. The Nissan NV High Roof model is especially adaptable for food truck and catering use thanks to its 76.9-inch tall interior, which provides the flexibility for the mobile chefs to comfortably move around inside while creating their gastronomical delights.”
In order to turn the normally commercial Nissan NV into a food truck, a Nissan design team adds features such as work counters and fold-out serving windows. All Nissan NV’s also come with an option to display custom marketing graphics for the exterior of the vehicle, and The Southern Mac & Cheese Truck will don a wooden countertop with a black skillet appearing to pour creamy Mac & Cheese on the bottom of the van.
The marketing appeal of the Nissan NV goes way beyond images. Obviously the company name will be featured but you can also add Facebook and Twitter images to remind customers to become a part of your social media.
Getting hungry yet? The Chicago Auto Show opens to the public on Friday, February 10th. If you want to see and test drive a Nissan NV before then, head to Orland Park Nissan at 8550 West 159th Street today!
